Redeemer Presbyterian Church is a newly formed church about 2 years old. We have a growing membership of 70 and an average weekly attendance of 72. We seek to worship in a Christ-centered and God-glorifying manner. Biblical preaching, heartfelt prayers and confessions, joyous praise, and the sacraments frame our worship.
Decatur, AL is in beautiful north Alabama along the Tennessee River, Decatur is a growing, family friendly community of more than 57,000 residents located 25 minutes from Huntsville, the largest city in the state and within a day’s trip to major hub cities in the south and southeast.

Job Description
Redeemer Presbyterian Church is seeking an Associate Pastor to fulfill the essential functions of this role including:
- Providing administrative oversight, supervision, and implementation of discipleship ministries (Sunday School, Bible studies, etc.) and volunteers
- Regular teaching within the discipleship ministries
- Lead any meetings associated with the administrative responsibilities assigned
- Support and/or guide church members with regard to counseling needs
- Oversee church wide communication to ensure excellent, consistent and timely notification of important information and upcoming events
- Builds relationships and connections intentionally within and outside of the church for the advancement of the Gospel
- Support weekly Sunday worship services in collaboration with the Teaching Pastor.

Position Qualifications
Essential competencies include:
- Integrity and honesty – a deep sense of responsibility and discretion when dealing with matters of great sensitivity (i.e. counseling needs, financial management, etc.)
- Work ethic – a track record of being productive, conscientious, effective, and efficient
- Accountability – demonstrates and accepts responsibility for actions
- Interpersonal skills – characterized by humility, courtesy, joy, empathy, tact and eagerness to know and be known by others
- Communication skills – a track record as a skilled teacher, communicates verbal and written messages in a clear and effective manner, receives/interprets communication well and responds effectively
The Candidate must:
- Be ordained or able to be ordained in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
- Formal education and/or training from a seminary equipping him to be a sound expositor of the God’s Word.
- 3-5 years of previous experience (preferred, but not required)
- Demonstrate a strong desire and excitement about taking on the many responsibilities of a burgeoning church.
